A yoga beginner’s course is the ideal way to begin your practice and discover yoga in a safe and fun space. It is also suitable for anyone looking to revisit the fundamentals of yoga.

In this course, you will be introduced to some of the key yoga poses (asanas) concentrating on healthy alignment and establishing a deeper awareness of your breathing.

Some of the many benefits of yoga include: improvement in posture and breathing, increased tone, strength and flexibility and a greater ability to cope with stress.


This course provides:
  • a steady and nurturing learning environment for new students
  • a forum for asking questions
  • an introduction to key yoga postures
  • an introduction to basic principles of alignment and action
  • an opportunity to learn about the body and how to prevent injury while practising
  • an introduction to the breath


It serves as a safe foundation from which you may confidently investigate the different styles of yoga in any level 1 or mixed level class.

Please let Damaris know before class if you have any form of injury or serious illness, or if you are pregnant or have recently had a baby.

Drop in Classes

All of Damaris' classes (except Dynamic Yoga) are suitable for beginners as she offers modifications to suit all abilities. The Sunday morning beginner's class is now called Yoga - All Levels. It is still a great start for beginner's and there will be plenty of options for people with more experience too.
