I am currently on maternity leave. Sarah Newman will be taking over with a 4-week online course in July and (hopefully!) will be back in person at the Sunflower Centre from the first week of August. Please get in touch with Sarah for more details: prasaritayoga@hotmail.com
A friendly and supportive space for mums and babies (crying babies welcome!) to come and share the highs and lows of ‘matrescence’. Working with the ‘Birthlight’ approach to postnatal yoga we will use breathing, movement, balance and relaxation to help mums ‘reclaim’ their bodies and nurture themselves. The practices are accessible to all women from 6 weeks postpartum (8-10 weeks with a Caesarean birth). Babies (crawling babies welcome online) also benefit with yoga, relaxed holds, movement and songs to aid digestion, soothe and entertain them. Both mother and baby are supported through the bonding process with plenty of opportunities for joyful and/or calming interactions and connections. Each class includes time for a chat (but while we're online you will have to make your own tea and cake! Sorry!)
Damaris is an experienced yoga teacher and trained with Birthlight and Lolly Stirk in pregnancy and postnatal yoga. Her small classes in SE London are tailored to her students and provide clear instruction while allowing women to connect to their breath and their bodies in their own time. She has a keen interest in the transformation that women undergo in becoming mothers and feels aligned to gentle, baby-led parenting.

Testimonials
"I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the class, I really appreciated your calm and gentle teaching style, and the space to connect with other mums (particularly during lockdown). I still do many of the songs and movements with Rosa, she really loves them and it's lovely to have something we can do together. Thanks for such an enjoyable class." ~ Trudy
"Thank you soooooo much for the wonderful classes! Mariyam is now so mobile and energetic that I'm afraid we can't take part any more as I'm just constantly chasing her around the room! But we've absolutely loved it and keeping going through lockdown was so brilliant too, it really kept my mood up. Mr Sun is Mariyam's favourite song and I sing it to her all the time so we think of you often! Thanks for bringing mum and baby yoga to us!" ~ Nancy
